News: IFB Announces Contracts for Workplace Recovery
28 February 2013
IFB announces today contracts with a net worth of £32,000 with two Aberdeen companies to provide Workplace Recovery (WPR) services. Chartered accounting firm, Anderson, Anderson and Brown (AAB) has signed a 12 month contract, worth nearly £10,000 for WPR services and taken 12 seats within the WPR suite. A £23,000 contract has also been signed by an oil and gas service provider who have taken 52 seats in the WPR suite. IFB’s WPR services were launched in July 2012 to provide businesses with an alternative location for their operations, should their premises become inaccessible. Their WPR suite is located in Aberdeen’s Altens area and connected to IFB’s Data Centre.
Graeme Gordon, CEO of IFB says, “Our WPR services were launched as part of our strategy of continual improvement. Many of our clients operate within industries that require them to be fully operational at all times, whatever their location. For both companies, it’s essential that they can continue to function, even when things go wrong. By taking seats within our Workplace Recovery suite, they have the ability to be back up and running within four hours, should their business be hit by a power outage or worse.
We have invested over £200K in the development of the service; the biggest facility of its kind in the North East. Our clients can access the Internet, direct dial telephones, meeting room facilities, car parking and all systems and applications if hosted in IFB’s Data Centre. So they can be back to ‘business as usual’ as quickly and efficiently as possible.”
IT Manager, Andy Barlow, at AAB says, “AAB has been an IFB partner for a number of years so there was no hesitation in broadening the relationship to include, not only their co-location facility, but the newly available WPR service.
AAB operate’s from a large single site on Queens Road, Aberdeen and therefore the WPR service provides protection for critical business services to continue with little or no interruption should AAB’s principle site be unavailable to operate from. Upon invocation the WPR facility also provides a central base and communications hub – automatically connected to our co-located network environment and outside world – from where we are able to control and organise recovery operations.
The testing days provide additional peace of mind that procedures and configurations are present and correct with IFB’s professionalism and support expertise paramount in our decision. AAB’s number one priority is to deliver quality, uninterrupted service to all our clients and contacts, and this partnership with IFB provides further support towards achieving that goal.”
