News: IFB Strengthens its Management Team

Internet service provider IFB today announces the appointment of Graeme Gordon to Chief Executive Officer. This is a new position which has been created to further strengthen the company’s management team as it continues to expand its operations across Scotland. IFB plans to invest further in 2013 with the development of new capabilities to add to its well-established high speed, resilient network services and provide clients with greater choice and products tailored to their demands. Staff numbers are also set to increase by 25% across the technical and sales departments.
In his sixteen years with IFB, Graeme has been a key driver behind the growth and development of the organisation. He has spearheaded may diverse projects including the development of pre-PDA location based applications, design and implementation of city-wide wi-fi, creation of distance learning software for further education and the design and commercialisation of IFB’s own UK network infrastructure.
Graeme Gordon, CEO of IFB says, “IFB is a forward thinking, rapidly growing company operating in an environment which is constantly changing, which means we are consistently developing new technologies and services to meet our clients’ needs. We have ambitious growth targets for the coming year and in my new role, my focus will be to invest further in the development of our capabilities and capacities, so we can deliver an increased range of services across the UK. Widening our client base which includes oil and gas, renewable energy, professional services and the third sector and reaching new markets across Scotland, will also be key objectives for 2013.
“Modern businesses are under greater pressure to deal with the variety, volume and velocity of data which is generated at an unmanageable rate and in line with this, we have widened our service offering to meet these needs. This includes the launch of our revolutionary Cloud services so clients’ can access flexible, secure and reliable data servers whilst running business applications and systems from our securely hosted platform in our Scottish Data Centre. Over the next 5 years, business data will rise by 800%, so we anticipate Cloud services being a key growth area for the business. We have also invested over £200k in the creation of Workplace Recovery solutions, so businesses can be up and running quickly and efficiently, should they be affected by floods or fire.

As part of 2013’s strategy, IFB will also be launching a new digital strategy including new website and social media plan with the aim of building relationships with customers and demonstrating thought leadership within the IT industry.
