IFB to form ICT framework for The Offshore Renewable Energy Catapult

A handful of channel firms have popped up among the winners of a lucrative IT framework with a public sector body focused on renewable energy.

The Offshore Renewable Energy Catapult (OREC), which claims to be the UK’s flagship technology innovation and research centre for offshore wind, wave and tidal energy, recently awarded 14 firms a place on its ICT framework, according to a framework-award notice.

The organisation acted on behalf of itself and a number of other so-called government Catapults, which form a network of “world-leading centres designed to transform the UK’s capability for innovation in specific areas”.

No details were disclosed about the scope of the framework, but the CPV codes associated with it include PCs, tablets, network cabling, AV kit and disaster recovery services.

The framework is split into 12 Lots:

Lot 1 – Supply of ICT equipment (hardware and software)
Lot 2 – Cabling services
Lot 3 – Disaster recovery and workspace recovery solutions
Lot 4 – VoIP telephony system support
Lot 5 – Hosting and cloud services
Lot 6 – Audio visual and associated services
Lot 7 – VoIP telephony system support
Lot 8 – Core ICT support and data devices
Lot 9 – Audio visual and associated support services
Lot 10 – LAN and unified communications support services and equipment
Lot 11 – WAN support services and equipment
Lot 12 – Infrastructure, backup and hosted application services and equipment

Among the winners were four familiar channel faces: CCS Media and Software Box Limited (SBL) won a place on Lot 1, with Trustmarque and NG Bailey IT services appearing on Lot 5 and Lot 2 respectively.

The other firms winning a spot on the framework are: Castle Grange Technologies, Comvista, Digital Craftsmen, Electrosonic, IFB, IT Professional Services, Lockheed Martin Business Technology Solutions, MDS, Microtech Support and Pacific Computers.
