Cyber Security Lead

April 2026

Location: Aberdeen office/ Hybrid
Reports to: Head of Operations
Company: Converged Solutions Group
Start Date: Immediate
Contract: Permanent, Full-Time

Company Overview

Converged Solutions Group Limited (CSG) is a Scottish technology group delivering a broad range of managed technology services to businesses across Scotland and beyond. Operating across four companies - Converged, IFB, Scot-Tech, and CRB - we bring together expertise in Managed IT Services (MSP), Internet & Connectivity (ISP), Electronic Security, Cyber Security, and Sales under one Group.

With a team of around 60 people, we work with SMEs and enterprises to manage, protect, and improve their technology infrastructure — acting as a trusted partner rather than a traditional supplier. We are a growing business with ambitious plans, and we are building the leadership team and disciplines to match that ambition.

“Our vision is to be the trusted technology management partner for SMEs to Enterprises, where we play a trusted role in supporting business productivity and efficiency.”

Role Summary

The Cyber Security Lead is the face of cyber security for CSG — internally and externally. This is not a purely technical role. We are looking for someone who understands that cyber security succeeds or fails at the business level, not the technology level.

The right person will be as comfortable presenting a cyber risk strategy to a board as they are sitting with a customer to understand their vulnerabilities and explain how we help them address those risks. This is a leadership role with a commercial edge — you will grow a cyber team, manage key supplier and partner relationships, and position CSG as a trusted cyber security partner for businesses across Scotland and beyond.

Key Responsibilities

Customer Engagement & Commercial Development

  • Build and manage relationships with existing and prospective customers, acting as a trusted cyber security advisor.

  • Lead customer cyber security reviews and risk assessments — translating findings into clear, jargon-free business recommendations.

  • Help customers understand cyber risk as a business risk and position investment accordingly.

  • Clearly articulate the business case and benefits of CSG’s cyber security services, identifying upsell and cross-sell opportunities.

  • Support the wider sales team with pre-sales activity, proposals, and client presentations.

Strategy & Advisory

  • Design and deliver the CSG Cyber Security Framework — a structured, repeatable methodology for assessing customer security posture and producing prioritised improvement roadmaps.

  • Develop and present cyber security strategies, policies, and roadmaps that reflect each customer’s operational reality.

  • Stay ahead of the threat landscape, regulatory changes (GDPR, Cyber Essentials, ISO 27001, NIS2), and market developments.

  • Contribute to and oversee CSG’s own internal cyber security posture, including DR and IR planning.

Supplier & Partner Management

  • Own relationships with key cyber security vendors and partners, ensuring CSG accesses best-in-class solutions and competitive commercial terms.

  • Evaluate new technologies and services, making recommendations that align with customer needs and the group’s wider service strategy.

  • Manage partner accreditations and ensure the team maintains required certifications and standards.

Internal Leadership & Education

  • Grow and develop the cyber security team - building capability, process, and culture.

  • Champion cyber security awareness internally through training, clear guidance, and engagement.

  • Act as the internal subject matter expert, advising leadership on risk, incidents, and emerging threats.

Skills & Experience

  • Proven experience in a customer-facing cyber security role, ideally within an MSP, consultancy, or professional services environment.

  • Demonstrable ability to communicate complex security concepts clearly to non-technical audiences — at board level and below.

  • Experience developing and presenting cyber security strategies, policies, and frameworks to business stakeholders.

  • Working knowledge of key compliance frameworks: Cyber Essentials/Plus, ISO 27001, GDPR, NIS2.

  • Familiarity with common security toolsets (SIEM, EDR, vulnerability management) — sufficient to advise credibly.

  • Experience of supplier or partner management within a technology environment.

  • Some team leadership or mentoring experience, with a clear appetite to build and develop a team.

  • Relevant certifications desirable: CISSP, CISM, CompTIA Security+, or equivalent.

Attributes & Approach

  • A natural communicator — confident, credible, and able to adapt their style for any audience.

  • Business-first mindset — leads with risk and impact, not technical jargon.

  • Commercially aware — understands how cyber security creates value and drives customer retention and growth.

  • Proactive and self-starting — able to build structure and momentum in a growing, evolving discipline.

  • Collaborative — works well across teams and brings people along, both internally and externally.

  • Ambitious — wants to build something, not just maintain it.

What We Offer

  • A varied role across a growing, multi-company technology group.

  • Competitive salary and benefits package.

  • Hybrid working arrangements.

  • Genuine scope to grow within the group as the business develops.

  • A collaborative, people-first culture where your contribution is recognised.
